SCEDD helped Gibbon apply for and receive 2 CDBG planning grants. This led to a downtown revitalization (DTR) grant to improve facades, sidewalks, and streets around some or all of Gibbon’s 47 downtown properties. 

Glenvil enlisted SCEDD to run its nuisance abatement program. SCEDD’s third-party oversight of code enforcement has the long-term goal of making Glenvil a more livable and desirable community. 

Through administration of CBDG grants, SCEDD has supported businesses in Hastings such as Western Reserve, Pacha Soap Co., and Bruckman Rubber; non-profits such as Revive; and infrastructure projects like water lines and ADA-compliant sidewalks. 

SCEDD assisted the City of Minden and a private developer with a project which converted a large vacant corner building on their courthouse square into much needed workforce housing with the help of an NAHTF grant.

SCEDD provided a Rural Workforce Housing Loan for a purchase, rehab, and resell project in Ravenna. SCEDD also assisted with the application for and administer of 2 CDBG grants, one to make much-needed improvements to the senior citizen center and the second to improve sidewalks that connect residential with downtown. 

SCEDD helped Red Cloud apply for and receive a CDBG grant to enhance public spaces in the renovated Hotel Garber. SCEDD also conducted a CNAS that reinforced the continuation of its nuisance abatement program. 

St. Paul received SCEDD’s assistance with project development, application for and administration of an RCRP grant to fund park improvements such as a new tennis and pickleball complex, a musical playground, and a picnic shelter. 

SCEDD works with Stamford to address vacant, dilapidated homes. SCEDD has also conducted a comprehensive housing study and supported Stamford on a CDBG planning grant to study water drainage issues. 

SCEDD conducted Superior’s CNAS to serve as a roadmap to advance housing, childcare, education, and economic development. SCEDD supported the application for and administration of a CDBG grant to fund park improvements. 

From application to administration of NAHTF and CDBG grants, SCEDD has aided Wood River’s efforts to convert a vacant downtown building into upper story housing and a portion of the former nursing home into the new senior center.
